Wapda Distribution Thermal Generation and NTDC companies would remain under the control of chairman Wapda being head of Pakistan Electric Power Company after December 31, 2004. According to a news release issued by Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union, this assurance was given by Chairman Wapda Tariq Hamid in a bilateral meeting with the representatives of the union.

Chairman Wapda also explained to the workers that the Wapda authority had been making all out efforts to provide maximum medical and educational facilities to the Wapda workers and their families.

He said that in case of completion of any project, the Wapda workers would be preferred to post on places, which are near to their houses. The next bipartite meeting will be held next month.
